James A. Marks

Vice President - Product Manager

Mr. Marks is the President and owner of JAM Holdings LLC which was started in February 2009 for the purpose of marketing the OneApp Agency software. He joined SyMplify in April 2006 and provided the leadership responsibility for the development of the OneApp Agency product. Mr. Marks has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He was a co-founder of Synaxis Group, Inc. which during a four year span grew from a start-up venture to among the forty largest P&C insurance brokers in the United States. Mr. Marks also has extensive experience in the life insurance sector having served as the chief accounting officer for Providian Agency Group and Southlife Holding Company. Before entering the insurance industry, Mr. Marks began his career with Price Waterhouse in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Marks earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Science from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Lance A. Hebert

Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Mr. Hebert is Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Sy.Med Development, and is responsible for the company’s national sales team. He joined Sy.Med in September of 2000 and was promoted to Vice President, Client Services in September of 2003. Lance also served as Vice President, Technical Resources, at which point he was responsible for product installation, application testing, upgrade distribution, and technical support. Prior to joining Sy.Med, he was a Systems Consultant for Superior Consultant Company, Inc. His responsibilities included client management, project management, and business development. Prior to joining Superior Consultant, Mr. Hebert gained network installation experience with Cahoon Corporation and financial and accounting experience with PhyCor, Inc. Mr. Hebert earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama with a concentration in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Telecommunications. Additionally, Lance has passed six certification exams covering Microsoft operating systems, networking, and database administration, and is a Microsoft Certified Professional and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Bill Locke

Chief Information Officer, Product Development

Mr. Locke is currently Chief Information Officer, Product Development of Sy.Med Development. He joined Sy.Med in April of 2003. Mr. Locke’s responsibilities at Sy.Med include all aspects of product development, conception, planning and implementation. Prior to joining Sy.Med Mr. Locke was a consultant with Oakwood Systems Group Inc where he was the original author of OneApp Pro. During his tenure at Oakwood, Mr. Locke also worked for various other clients, such as MAPCO, Inc's Corporate Headquarters (The Williams Companies Inc.) and HCA Inc. (formerly Hospital Corporation of America). At HCA he led various projects, including delivery of patient data to physicians through a secured internet connection drawing patient data from legacy patient information systems. Additionally at MicroHelp Inc., the original creator of an Uninstaller program for Windows, Mr. Locke managed a development department that produced programming tools for Microsoft programming languages as well as end user utilities. Mr. Locke is the author of “Visual C++ for Visual Basic Developers”, Addison-Wesley and has spoken around the world at programming conferences, including Visual Basic Insider’s Technical Summit (VBITS) and VSLive on subjects including Visual Basic and Visual C++. Mr. Locke graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science, major in accounting.
